	Objective: Students will write informative, narrative articles, including a biography about the author, based on a historical nonfiction book (related to current area of study) for a fictitious newspaper front page using a word processing program.

	Objective: Students will begin to understand the process of budgeting. Students will also be able to create a spreadsheet to record income and expenses for a family for one year.

	Objective: Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the planets and the Solar System and their proficiency in using various web sites to conduct research on the Internet. They will create a PowerPoint slide show that will explain what a traveler to their chosen planet would encounter on his or her journey, including a picture and description of a device or machine specifically invented or redesigned for a trip to this planet.

	Objective: Students will create a spreadsheet that will calculate how much interest their money would earn if invested over various increments of time. The students will also show this data graphically by creating charts. Finally, they will compare that data using tables and graphs in a word-processed document.
