	Objectives: Students will create a biographical poem in a specific format using a thesaurus as a tool. They will use tools in a Word Processor program to format text to fit the criteria of the poem format and to insert a properly formatted picture from the Internet to accompany their poem. Students will properly cite the source of the Internet picture.

	Objective: Students will demonstrate proficiency in Internet research by using websites to conduct an investigation on a selected individual. Students will compile information, graphics and source citations in a word-processed document. Students will use this information to create a PowerPoint presentation about their person, properly citing text and graphics.

	Objective: Students will research a battle from the Civil War. Students will then play the role of reporter writing a newsletter about events from the battle.

	Objective: Students will be able to create a survey in a word processing program to solicit voting opinion data. They will be able to create a spreadsheet, generate formulas and chart the collected data. Students will also show proficiency in creating a PowerPoint presentation on polling results and campaign strategies.

	Objective: Students will create a portfolio of poetry and artwork based on their Internet research and examples of their own work. They will create word-processed documents, inserting example poems from various poets researched on the Internet, and they will also insert their own word-processed poetry and artwork, following a specified format for the Portfolio.

	Objective: Students will demonstrate mastery of Internet research and word processing by writing a research paper on a selected topic. This will include an essential question, outline, rough draft, final paper with title page and properly cited bibliography page. Students will demonstrate proficiency in Internet research by using web sites as well as other sources to conduct an investigation on their topic. Students will compile information, graphics and source citations in a word-processed document.

	Objective: Students will research the contributions and major events in the lives of their selected Patron Saint using www.catholic.org/saints & www.catholic-forum.com websites to conduct their research. Students will report their research in a word-processed document complete with properly cited text & graphics from the Internet.

	Thanksgiving Research Language Arts, Social Studies Word Processing, Internet more info>>
	Objectives: Students will visit “http://wilstar.com/holidays/thankstr.htm” to learn about the History of Thanksgiving and select an appropriate image for their poem. Students will then use a word processor to create an acrostic poem. Students in 3-5 & 6-8 will use “Search” to locate 3 web sites to use in their research of the history of Thanksgiving. Students will add properly cited pictures and interesting facts to their document from all 3 sources.
